Vizio Ventures is our Venture Studio, partnering with entrepreneurs to build MVPs and SaaS products from idea to launch. Together, we serve mid-market firms through digital transformation services while also building and incubating early-stage products with founders.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Sales Manager to lead and expand the sales function across both brands. This is a hybrid role:
- You’ll manage our Upwork-driven pipeline, optimize automation systems (getMany, GigRadar), and help us break further into mid-market accounts (e-commerce, legal, finance, real estate, etc.).
- You’ll source and close deals with entrepreneurs, founders, and early-stage teams who need MVP design, development, and go-to-market support.
- Finally, you will build a non-Upwork driven pipeline across Turkey and EMEA.
The Sales Manager will manage the junior sales team, act as a senior closer, and own pipeline growth across both service- and venture-led engagements.
Your Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and coach junior sales staff (currently focused on Upwork proposals and Linkedin outreach).
- Enforce proposal quality standards and train the team to adapt tone/content to each brand.
- Run weekly reviews of scanners, cover letters, and team performance.
2. Pipeline Ownership
- Oversee Upwork scanners (getMany, GigRadar) with our paid ads person for both Vizio AI and Vizio Ventures.
- Track and optimize proposal view/reply rates, connect spend, and scanner effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records in HubSpot CRM, ensuring deals are tagged by brand (AI Studio vs. Ventures).
3. Brand-Specific Business Development
- For Vizio AI: Expand beyond Upwork into mid-market firms, leveraging LinkedIn outreach, partnerships, and targeted campaigns.
- For Vizio Ventures: Build relationships with founders, accelerators, and incubators, converting them into MVP development deals.
- Align with marketing to develop tailored case studies, catalogs, and campaigns for both brands.
4. Closing & Client Growth
- Act as senior closer for high-ticket Vizio AI contracts and strategic Vizio Ventures projects.
- Negotiate scope, milestones, and commercial terms with both enterprises and founders.
- Ensure smooth handovers to Delivery and Ventures Product Teams, while spotting upsell and long-term growth opportunities.
5. Reporting & Forecasting
- Produce weekly dashboards of pipeline activity, proposal-to-reply conversion, revenue by brand, and deal stage health.
- Forecast AI vs. Ventures revenue split and track ROI on acquisition channels.
- Share actionable insights with the CEO on growth risks, opportunities, and needed pivots.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 3–5 years in sales leadership (IT services, SaaS, or digital agencies).
- Experience managing a team and optimizing outbound sales.
- Familiarity with Upwork and early-stage founder sales cycles.
- Proficiency in CRMs (HubSpot preferred) and sales automation.
- Strong communicator, able to adapt across executives and founders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, balancing volume and relationship-driven sales.
